- The minimum age to ride one of our e-bikes is 12 years, and riders must be at least 150 cm (4 ft 9 in) tall, with a maximum weight of 140 kg and maximum height of 210 cm (6 ft 7 in).

Step onto Waiheke Island and embark on the 5 Bays Ride, an unforgettable eBike journey across the northern coastline. This carefully curated route offers a perfect blend of scenic beauty, outdoor adventure, and indulgent relaxation. What to Expect
1. Start at Matiatia Ferry Terminal
Your adventure begins the moment you disembark at Matiatia. The friendly team at eRide Waiheke HQ, conveniently located inside the ferry terminal, will get you ready for the day. After a quick safety briefing and setup with your powerful eBike, you’ll receive a detailed route map and insider tips to ensure your ride is as seamless as it is memorable.
2. Oneroa to Little Oneroa
Your first stop is Oneroa Village, the island’s bustling heart. Cruise effortlessly along the main street, where boutique shops and cozy cafés invite you to pause for a morning coffee or snack. Then, head down to Oneroa Beach, a serene stretch of sand where you might even spot dolphins playing in the bay. From there, glide over to Little Oneroa Beach, a local favorite with a more secluded vibe. Take a short walk to the rocky point, where panoramic views offer the perfect photo opportunity.
3. Sandy and Enclosure Bays
Your eBike makes the climb to Sandy Bay and Enclosure Bay a breeze, leaving you free to admire the stunning coastal views. These bays are a snorkeler’s paradise, known for crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life. Pack a mask and fins or simply relax and soak in the tranquility of these hidden gems.
4. Palm Beach and Little Palm
As you continue, you’ll reach Palm Beach, renowned for its golden sands and calm waters. This idyllic spot is perfect for a refreshing swim or a peaceful break under the shade of the pohutukawa trees. Feeling adventurous? Venture to Little Palm Beach, a tucked-away cove with a “clothing-optional” policy for those who dare to embrace the island’s free-spirited charm.
5. Onetangi Beach
Pedal on to Onetangi Beach, the largest and arguably most stunning beach on Waiheke Island. With its wide expanse of soft white sand and turquoise waters, this is the perfect halfway point on your journey. Choose from one of three beachfront restaurants to enjoy a leisurely lunch, sipping on local wine while taking in the unbeatable views.
6. The Winery Valley
After Onetangi, head inland to the Winery Valley, a haven for wine enthusiasts. This area is home to six renowned wineries and a boutique distillery.
